Paul Bennett
Paralegal
Paul is a native of Denver, Colorado. His father’s family came to Colorado in the 1850’s while on his mother’s side he is only the third generation born in the United States. Paul grew up in Aurora and was the third graduating class from Rangeview High School. After high school, Paul entered the Army and completed Airborne School, Air Assault School, Combat Lifesavers School, and the Primary Leadership Development Course. Paul has been stationed in the United States and South Korea and conducted exercises in Panama.
After his time in the military, Paul worked his way through college as a plumber and then worked in the Organic Chemistry field. When the company he was working for went out of business, Paul returned to plumbing and received his State of Colorado Certification as a Journeyman Plumber. During his career as a plumber he had an opportunity to travel to Iraq to work as a plumber which he did for 32 months.
Upon returning from Iraq, Paul was faced with the economic crisis of 2008 and 2009 which included the collapse of the housing market. Paul made the difficult decision to go back to college for his Degree in Paralegal Studies. While still in college, Paul was hired at his first law firm where he was able to apply what he was learning in college to real world legal issues. After college, Paul was hired by the Colorado Courts where he worked in domestic and criminal divisions in Denver District Court and Arapahoe County District Court.
After working for the Courts, Paul went back into private practice and worked for one of the television attorneys. He grew tired of the constant chaos and disliked the fact that clients were treated like a number and not a person. Paul believes clients need someone to aggressively advocate for them. He found matching beliefs in Oakmont Law Group and readily accepted their offer to be a paralegal.
Paul is single with two adopted cats and a daughter who is attending Arkansas University. He also has a son who will be playing hockey with the Junior A Chicago Cougars this season. In his spare time, Paul can often be found at a local area hockey rink with his son, on a golf course, doing a day hike in the Colorado Mountains, or online playing video games.
